Yelp for business – becoming aggressive

Yelp has called us three time within a week urging us to complete our Yelp for Business page.

Their strategy must be to expand out from food and hospitality reviews to business services, which is perhaps why their stock price is currently $65 and climbing back from its lows after having toppled from a high of $100.

For a marketing company having a presence on Yelp is not going to make a difference. But there is no reason to pass up the web presence and another link into our website. It costs nothing except a few minutes of time to create a business profile.  It is the same with social media sites including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Google +. Even if a business is not keen or knowledgeable about social media the additional online presence heightens their profile and improves their Google search ranking. If you are responsible for marketing a business and haven’t already – logon and create a profile.
